
This recipe uses simple ingredients to whip up soft baked fluffy donuts topped with strawberry frosting and sprinkles for a sweet eye-catching treat you can feel good about sharing. (Or eating all yourself ... we won't tell!)
INGREDIENTS
1c all-purpose flour or 1:1 gf flour
1tsp baking powder
1/4tsp baking soda
1/4tsp salt
1/3c cane sugar
1/2c almond milk
2tbsp coconut oil (melted & cooled)
1/4c applesauce
1/2tsp almond extract
2tbsp sprinkles
STRAWBERRY FROSTING
1/2c strawberry cream cheese (softened) @treelinecheese
3tbsp vegan butter (softened)
2c powdered sugar
2tbsp sprinkles (for topping)
INSTRUCTIONS
1)Preheat oven to 375F and grease a donut pan
2)In a large bowl, combine all dry ingredients except sprinkles
3)In a medium bowl, stir together wet ingredients
4)Pour wet ingredients into dry and mix until just combined (do not overmix!)
5)Fold in sprinkles
6)Transfer batter into donut molds and fill each 3/4 way full
7)Bake for 11-12mins or until toothpick comes out clean. Allow donuts to cool completely before frosting
8)For frosting: beat together cream cheese & butter till creamy. Then add powdered sugar and beat till fluffy. Set in fridge till ready to use. *add 1-2tbsp nut milk if you prefer a thinner frosting! Then spread over top of cooled donuts, top with sprinkles and enjoy!
